Minnesota Model
Step by step
The Minnesota Model is a successful treatment programme for people with addiction that is based on 12 steps. What makes this treatment unique is that it combines a behavioural-therapeutic and an experiential approach.
The primary goal of the programme is lasting recovery from addiction and an improved quality of life. This goal is achieved by applying the principles of the 12-step philosophy, in which contact with other recovering addicts and actively working on changes in daily behaviour play a crucial role.
The method takes into account the complex nature of addiction, which has various causes and affects all aspects of the life and person in question (and their environment). Group sessions work exceptionally well for addictions. You recognise your own problems here, see the obstacles facing others and see how they overcome their addiction step by step. This makes you realise that you too have the strength within you to do the same and leave the addiction behind.
You see our modern take on the 12-step Minnesota Model reflected in our support in various ways. We approach your personal situation from a place of equality, we offer a safe environment and focus on a personal approach. You retain control at all times.
